Iranian Physical Types

I am Irano-nordoid. Not a perfect example, but pretty much an Irano-nordoid. I have long face, rugged face, green eyes, my head bulges back a little, my cheekbones are prominent, heavy brow ridge, high forehead, a lot of facial and body hair, and a rounded straight nose.

That sounds like a very cute and gorgeous person!
By the way what does rugged face mean and does and Irano-nordoid or Armeonid have a special type of body shape?

And an other thing I have thought of is that no matter which ethnicity you belong to, there are similarities everywhere, like a black person can have similar features as as a hispanic or a white.
Some people say I look Like Jessica Simpson, because of the jaw-line even though she's blond and my friend looks like Alicia Keys even though she's iranian.

Rugged face means a rough face, as opposed to a more gracile, softer face like a baby's. My face isn't that rugged, but more than average. As far a physical types are concerned their bodies are not definitively defined (all three physical types can have a range in body types) but they do look different on average.

mediterranean- mediterraneans are generally slim and have moderately long limbs and less body hair

Armenoids- have a generally moderate to heavier build. As far as limbs go I am not certain. Some think that they have long limbs, some short limbs. I have seen both types so I am not sure? They also have lots of facial and body hair (this doesnt apply for women).

Irano-nordoid- are generally moderately built with longer limbs and abundant body and facial hair (this doesnt apply for women).

Wow the more you explain the different type of iranians the more I'm convinced that I belong to all three of them! We iranians are very mixed....
Cause I'm sort of slim, rugged face but at the same time baby-face features, a mix of sharghi and gharbi so to say...

Hahah no I'm not that great....but I just have a hard time indentifying my looks cause some people say I look like thypical iranian and some say no...that's why I believe I belong to all three cathegories...

Write now I am reading Spencer Wells, The Journey of Man, trying to find more info on migrations into Iran and their effect on Y-chromosomal markers. But so far I know that according to the discoveries of anthropologist each ethnic holds 85% of the gene pool. In other word there is 85% variation within an ethnicity, 8% variation between ethnicities of a certain race, and 7% variation between races. So if all ethncities except one were eliminated humanity would still retain 85% of its variation.

That depends on who u ask. Now genetically u are right there is no such thing as race. As I posted above their is 85% variation within an ethnicity, 8% between ethnicities, and 7% between races. In other words there is 85% variation within the Iranian group. Now between Iranians and let's say chinese ppls there is only 7% variation. So genetically races do not really exist. Yet if someone is from Africa or China or Europe u can certainly tell the difference, cant u? So some scientist argue there is such a thing as race in physical terms. WHy physically we look so different and yet genetically we are similar is a mystery. Race is purely a relative thing.

As you can see Iran appears at the bottom end. It is very different from Arabid skulls which would appear closer to Jericho and North Africa. Iranians are very different from Arabs.

By the way, did u guys know that in the country of Nigeria there is more genetic diversity than in Asia, Europe, Native Americans, and Hispanics combined?

That is because humans have been in Africa the longest so they have the most variations in genes.

I have noticed that people from Africa have very different features...for example my friend from Eritrea have very different looks from other Africans she doesn't have that wide nose, she has a smal nose and very european features because they're mixed with Jews since long time ago...

Most Eriteans are not mixed with the jews, that is mainly the royal house in Ethiopia, as far as racial type goes, many eastern Africans are mixed with Mediterranid races. Hence longer, more slender limbs and the smaller nose.

BTW I just got The Races of Europe by Carlton S. Coon. Kind of outdated but still, a lot of good info. I was a little disappointed, there was not as much info on Iranians as there was other people (Coon claims no one has been interested, or bothered to study Iran). But the info he does give is very interesting. He claims skeletal remains from 2000bc, from the Luristan region do in fact resemble modern Iranid types (contrary to the white supremist view that Iranians were a "dark" that was conquered by "superior" whites, and so thus the breed became modern Iranians). In reality Iranians are a branch of the Mediterranean subrace of the Caucasian race.

Yes your cranial shape, with your longer nose, sloping forehead, etc are features which belong to Irano-Nordoid. This is very similar to my head shape.

this is an east nordindid Irano-Nordoid, very similar to you at least metrically, he has the same bulge at the back which is deep and rounded, and long nasal profile, and long face. He is from east Afghanistan



Here is a Kurd from western Iran with the same profile.



The Irano-nordoid peoples are metrically very similar to the Corded peoples who invaded Europe. So, especially in north-central and north-eastern Europe you do find people who are similar to Iranians.

Although my father doesn't look like a typical Belgian, he has a darker pigment, a lot of facial and body hair (not so much on his chest but alot on his legs), and dark black hair... so maybe i'm related with those Corded people who invaded Europe?
